For many years now, Fariba Pacheleh has been actively advocating for diversity, inclusion and equity in the Tech Industry and other fields. A National Leader of the Gender Equality Network Canada working with a pan-Canadian network of 150 women leaders, Fariba has been a key contributor in drafting the National Action Plan to advocate for policy change, build inclusive intersectional leadership, and take collective action to advance gender equality in Canada.

A passionate leader and strategic thinker with over 25 years’ combined industry and advisory services experience, in corporate leadership roles and non-profit boards. She started her career as a Hardware Engineer. After moving to Canada and completing Management programs at SFU and UBC, she has been engaged in strategic planning and delivery of transformational and highly regulated projects and programs in private and government sectors.

As current chair of BCIT’s Program Advisory Committee, Fariba works with major public, private and government organization leaders in Vancouver to identify overall industry trends and incorporate their insight to the new programs while reviewing and recommending major curriculum changes to existing ones. Having benefited from the guidance of mentors,

Fariba is keen on giving back to the community and has been a sought-after mentor whether at work (Director, Corporate Projects, BC Liquor Distribution Branch); the Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology (past President and Advisory Council member for the federally-funded Make Diversity Possible Project); the WEB Alliance of Women’s Business Network (vice chair); the Iranian Engineers of BC Association (co-founder and co-chair) and other organizations.
